Kilian was born under the sign of Libra in Bonn, Germany. Never one to go along with mainstream culture, he spent his youth dreaming about alternative ways of living, absorbing political, ecological, philosophical and pedagogic ideas like a sponge, but feeling that most of them did not touch the essence of what it all was about…
Being confronted with the need to choose a profession, he first chose music which seemed a subject diverse and entertaining enough to fill a lifetime without getting bored. As his muscial studies went on, he got glimpses of what it means to get really deep into something, and he also found the need to get a more intimate relation to his own body.
After 7 years of intense studies, Kilian graduated as a jazz saxophone player, and in that moment he felt that before seriously making a career he should follow the call of the big wide world that he had been hearing for years. He set out to travel and hasn’t stopped ever since. His journey took him too the natural vastness of the Brazilian Amazon, to Peru, Australia and finally to India. On this trip, it became unavoidable to ask some fundamental questions: “What is all this about ?” – “How does life work ?” – “What consciousness is sustaining all these miracles ?” – “Who is God ?” and thus Kilian took his first steps to consciously explore spirituality.
Travelling in India, he also discovered a poster of Agama Yoga’s Rishikesh branch and thought it would be nice to come back in some moment to take a course. This moment came 2 years later, and since then practicing yoga and meditation has become an integral part of Kilian’s life – so much so, that in 2011 he decided to do Agama’s teacher training course.
Today Kilian is most happy to pass on the knowledge of the Agama program that has improved his own life so much. His aspiration and dedication goes to teaching and living through an open heart, to transform all aspects of life into spiritual practice, cultivating love and respect for all fellow beings, equally for his partner, friends, family, students, or the small spider that is landing on his head in the middle of a deep meditation… In “outer life” he loves to be in nature, still plays and studies music and bakes a delicious German whole-meal bread…
